Dogs: How to apply the cuff

The dog is already in the preferred position. It should lie in a relaxed
sternal postion so that no weight is put on the leg.
The cuff should be fitted
below the elbow joint over soft tissue to enhance the arterial oscillations.
Always make sure that the cuffs are closed tight snug to allow detection
of the oscillations.
The tube entrance areas have to be placed above the
artery and the tube should be led away from the body. Start the measurement:
The cuff is automatically inflating and then slowly deflating.
At least three consecutive readings have to be performed. With deviations
of more than 15mm Mercury, up to five readings are recommended.
The values of the readings are saved.
The final printout shows the single readings
and the calculated average.
